My first path was through the arts.  I studied French classical painting then earned a B.A. from FSU in Tallahassee, Florida, and Florence, Italy, in both painting and art history.  Next, I focused on learning methods of applied intuition and meditation, specifically based on Kriya Yoga, Buddhism, and mystical Christianity.  In 1989, I earned my masters in transpersonal counseling from JFKU in Orinda, CA. The golden thread running through all three is a fascination with the heart/mind and imagery.

I worked in day, residential and hospital treatment settings for teens who had been abused, neglected or in acute crisis.  I worked with adults who suffered with schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, and severe bipolar disorder in a residential setting combining psychoanalysis, family and milieu therapy.  I began working with families and young children in 1990.  Since licensure in 1992, I have worked in private practice.  From 1992-1994, I studied EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) for trauma recovery.  I struggled with how to help patients with brain based problems: learning disorders, traumatic brain injuries, sensory overload, pernicious severe depression, and anxiety, more effectively.  I was also searching for a means to avoid or lessen the use of psychotropics, especially for children.  Therefore, in 2005, I learned LENS Neurofeedback to balance mind and heart healing with brain healing.  In 2009, Reconnective Healing became a method to explore nonverbal healing, most especially for the dying.  In 2010, I added NeuroField, a subtle rTMS device, as a method to actually add energy to the physical system in the form of specific frequency chords. In 2012, I studied CranioSacral therapy to further the deepening and integration of the LENS.  I continue to explore evolving methods and technologies to deepen my understanding and practice of subtle and harmonic energetic healing and its integration with psychotherapy.  I work collaboratively with physicians, naturopaths, nutritionists, chiropractors, teachers, and homeopaths whenever helpful.
